Message for the exhibition

Advertising Museum Tokyo produces several representative ad awards exhibition both domestic and abroad to present superiors in global level throughout the year. “D&AD Awards 2007 Exhibition: Creative Excellence in Advertising & Design” can be carried out first time in Japan with the co-operation of D&AD represents the international design, advertising, and creative communities in U.K. D&AD award is acknowledged as its high level screening and its dignity could be represented by their slogan “For Excellence, For Education, For Enterprise and not for profit” Owing to the “UK-Japan 2008” organized by British embassy and British council throughout this year, this exhibition is one of the ccredited events. This D&AD award 2007 is the notable exhibition of international design and advertising come from U.K.

From D&AD’s President
D&AD was originally founded in 1962. D&AD is dedicated to celebrating creative communication, rewarding its practitioners and raising standards throughout the international design, advertising and communications industries.D&AD is about the creative work our community excels at.  We differ from other Awards in that we invest all the money we raise into the student and professional development of the industry.  This, we hope, encourages the good to become great and the great to become greater. We really raise the bar of the exceptional to a height that inspires us all. Our Yellow Pencil Award is the one personal award that you would save from a burning building!It is my honour to be D&AD’s current President, the first from the digital arena.  My mission is to share brilliant work with as wide an audience as possible, so it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to this exhibition of the nominations and winners of the D&AD Awards 2007. About D&AD

Pencils

D&AD is a not-for-profit organisation that represents the international design, advertising and communications industries. More than any other organisation, D&AD sets industry standards, educates and inspires the next generation and promotes the importance of creativity, innovation and ideas. Forty-five years later the media landscape has changed beyond all recognition but D&AD is still fulfilling that same fundamental role and has become a body with an international remit and reputation.  Its awards for international creative excellence – famously known as the ‘Yellow Pencils’  - still look much the same as when Lou Klein devised them in 1966, but they are now coveted throughout the world. Over D&AD’s 45-year history, the Yellow Pencil has been awarded to brands such as Sony, Apple, Levis, Nike, Guinness and the BBC for creative excellence in categories spanning advertising, graphic design, product design, digital media and many more.

Black Pencils

Black Pencils are only awarded to work that is groundbreaking or redefines its medium.

Yellow Pencils

Yellow Pencils are awarded for creative excellence, and are selected from the Nominations.
